Tyler Boulevard Sidewalk Project

Laketran launched a new route in 2019 serving Mentor’s manufacturing corridor. This year, accessibility will be enhanced with the addition of sidewalks along a portion of that route as announced by City Manager Kenneth J. Filipiak during his annual State of the City address.

Just over a mile of concrete sidewalk will be installed on the south side of Tyler Boulevard between Heisley Road and Hopkins Road to serve employees and businesses along that corridor.

Tyler Boulevard is the major arterial in Mentor, connecting ten industrial boulevards lined with over 300 employers and 7,500 jobs, making it the 7th largest concentration of manufacturing companies in the state.

The $600,000 project is funded in part with a $416,000 Laketran grant.  It is currently in the design stage and expected to be completed this year.
