The SR-306 road improvement project is tentatively scheduled to begin next week.
Enhancements will include will include pavement repairs, curb ramps, sidewalk replacement and resurfacing of the roadway between SR-84 to Lakeshore Boulevard. Construction will be performed in three main phases.
- Phase 1: SR-84 to US-20
- Phase 2: US-20 to SR-2
- Phase 3: SR-2 to Lakeshore Boulevard
In order to maintain traffic flow during Phase 1, a one-way southbound construction zone will be established from US-20 to SR-84. Northbound traffic will be detoured via SR- 84, Plaza Boulevard, and US-20. This one-way traffic pattern will be in place for approximately four weeks.
Two-way traffic will be maintained on Phases 2 and 3 utilizing lane closures.
Motorists are reminded to please use caution when driving through this work area.
Work will be performed Monday through Friday, between 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM on Phase 1 and Phase 3. Work on Phase 2 will be 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
The project is expected to be completed this fall.
Construction costs on the project were estimated at $2.98 million. The City of Mentor is receiving $2.45 million of federal funding through NOACA for this project with the City funding the balance.
