The Board of Building & Zoning Appeals will meet on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 7:00 PM in council chambers located on the third floor of the Mentor Municipal Center.

Meetings are open to the public. BZA Meetings are not televised.

COMPREHENSIVE LAND USE PLAN PUBLIC MEETING
The city of Mentor has started work on its next 20-Year Comprehensive Plan and will host a public meeting at the Springbrook Gardenhouse on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM. For the plan update to be successful, it must also be driven by the vision and values of the people that live and work here.  There will be opportunities throughout this plan update for public engagement, from attending community open houses to completing an online survey.  Learn how you can help shape Mentor’s future at www.helpshapementor.com.

JUST KIDS STUFF GARAGE SALE & EARLY BIRD FARMERS MARKET PREVIEW
Mentor Farmers Market will host an early preview for their 2025 market while our Recreation Department hosts it annual Just Kids Stuff Garage Sale on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Garfield Park.  The market will take place in its normal location in the upper grounds of Garfield Park while the kids garage sale will take place in the lower section near the pavilion and ball fields. Learn more…

WILDWOOD GARDEN CLUB SPRING PLANT SALE
The Garden Club offers a wide variety of outdoor plants and flowers, including both annuals and perennials on Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM inside the South Wing of the Manor House at Wildwood Cultural Center. All proceeds benefit the Wildwood Garden Club.

VOTERS APPROVE OBSERVATION TOWER
Mentor voters approved Issue 4 on May 6, 2025, authorizing the construction of a 92-foot tower on the marsh rim, approximately 1,000 feet north of the main trailhead at the Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve. Of the 3,479 votes cast, 2,550 (73.3%) supported the measure, while 929 (26.7%) opposed it. Construction is scheduled to begin this summer. Learn more…
