MENTOR CITY COUNCIL MEETING
Mentor City Council will meet on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 7:00 PM in council chambers located on the third floor of the Mentor Municipal Center. Mentor City Council meetings are open to the public and are broadcast live on the Mentor Channel, Spectrum 1024, U-Verse 99, and on our App available for ROKU, Apple, Android, and Amazon Fire. Meetings are rebroadcast numerous times throughout the following week.
The council meeting will be preceded by a Work Session at 5:30 PM which will not be televised.
MUNICIPAL PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
The Municipal Planning Commission will meet on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 7:00 PM in council chambers located on the third floor of the Mentor Municipal Center.

The Mentor Police Department is urging drivers to buckle up during the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s (NHTSA) national Click It or Ticket high-visibility enforcement effort. The national seat belt campaign, which coincides with the Memorial Day holiday, runs from May 19 to June 1, 2025. The Mentor Police Department will be taking a no-excuses approach to seat belt law enforcement, writing citations day and night. MEMORIAL DAY CEREMONY & PARADE
All are invited to attend the city of Mentor’s annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 26, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the Mentor Municipal Cemetery. The ceremony will be preceded by a solemn parade which will step-off at 9:30 AM from Memorial Middle School located at 8979 Mentor Avenue. It will proceed north to the cemetery, arriving at the Mentor Memorial Promenade. Members of city council and administration, county and state elected officials, and other veterans and civic groups will be in attendance. Mentor Municipal Cemetery is located at 6881 Hopkins Road. The ceremony will be recorded and rebroadcast for those unable to attend.
HOMETOWN HEROES

HAZARDOUS WASTE SPECIAL COLLECTIONS
The Lake County Solid Waste District will conduct a special collection of hazardous waste on Saturday, May 31, 2025, and Saturday, September 20, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Lake County Fairgrounds located at 1301 Mentor Avenue.
Lake County residents can drop off accepted items including most automotive and household cleaners; lawn, pool and unknown chemicals; lightbulbs and batteries; aerosols, empty propane tanks, kerosene, mercury, paints (oil-based), polyurethanes, primers and grout; roofing tars, shellacs, stains, thinners, turpentine and varnish.
Prohibited items include ammunition, explosives, latex paint(dry it & toss it), medical waste, prescription medicines, and smoke alarms(mail to manufacturer).
All items will be unloaded from your vehicle by the collections team at the designated drop off point.
