OPERATION SNOW LIFT
Winters in Northeast Ohio can be unpredictable and seniors in particular may find it challenging to clear their driveways during heavy winter storms. The city has partnered with the Lake County Council on Aging to create and test a pilot emergency snowplowing assistance program. Operation Snowlift is designed to support low-to-moderate-income Mentor residents who are 62 and older who meet specific income criteria and may struggle to afford per-push snow removal services. As of this posting, approximately half of the 74 available positions have been filled. To learn more or to apply, contact the Lake County Council on Aging directly at (440) 205-8111 or www.lccoa.org.
