Condado Tacos is a place to come as you are, soak up the local vibe, and feel connected with the community…and it’s that spirit that has driven the amazing growth of this Columbus-based taco joint which was founded in 2014 and just opened their 32nd location, right here in Mentor.
They’ve clearly found their recipe for success by serving unique tacos, margaritas, and tequilas, in a colorful and energetic atmosphere. Condado Tacos works with local artists to paint the walls of each restaurant with unique, street-art inspired floor-to-ceiling murals. The Mentor location was done by Graffiti HeArt and welcomes guests to “The Museum of Mystical Margs and Twisted Tacos”.
But clean and craveable food is what drives the menu that is “all about fresh”.
“We offer an affordable, craveable, meal in an exciting environment,” says Founder, Joe Kahn, “And, we move to your speed. If you want to get it and get out in 20 minutes, we’ll do that for you. If you want to sit around for an hour, we’ll do that for you as well.”
“Condado offers unique flavor combinations with out-of-the-box thinking,” adds Chief Marketing Officer, Sara Kear, “Our suggested tacos are combinations that we love the most were built by staff but you can also build your own tacos from scratch.”
Diners can choose from traditional protein options including chicken, beef, and pork, but also vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free, selections as well. Condado also features a full bar with a large assortment of 100% blue agave tequilas, and specialty margaritas such as the Gran Clasico.
When asked why they chose Mentor, Kahn was impressed with the population density – which is important for any business, especially restaurants.
“I think we’re going to do extremely well here,” said Kahn, “The feedback so far has been overwhelmingly positive.”
And judging by the reaction from diners who were in attendance during the preview night, we would have to agree.
