The Lake County Council on Aging, in partnership with University Hospitals Geauga Medical Center, will mark Falls Prevention Awareness Day on September 21, 2023, with a community event at the main Council on Aging office at 8520 East Avenue, Mentor. This year’s theme is “From Awareness to Action.”
The purpose is to promote and increase public awareness about how to prevent and reduce falls among older adults, and what steps to take if one occurs.
The event begins at 10:00 AM and will offer fall prevention education throughout the day, along with a number of health screenings including cholesterol / glucose check, blood pressure, body mass index (BMI), balance screenings, preventative risk screenings and memory screenings.
The Council on Aging event will also bring back the popular “Ask a Pharmacist” table, so bring your RX questions!
There is no cost to participate. For more information please call University Hospitals at 440-214-3180.
