The City of Mentor will unveil a statue of James A. Garfield at the Mentor Municipal Center on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 6:00 PM.
The slightly larger-than-life figure is being designed and built by renowned artist Alan Cottrill whose body of work includes over 400 pieces including that of Thomas Edison in Statuary Hall at the US Capitol Building.
A short program will be followed by a free community picnic on the grounds of the Mentor Civic Amphitheater.
