Lifeline’s HEAP Winter Crisis Program will begin next Wednesday, November 1.

The program provides assistance with utility disconnection, impending utility disconnection and bulk fuel supplies during the winter heating season of November 1 through March 31. Eligibility is based on HEAP guidelines, including income guidelines that are at 175% of the federal poverty level.  Individuals who are homebound due to a medical condition may arrange for a home visit.

Lifeline anticipates being extremely busy for the first few weeks of November. Staff will do the best they can to see as many clients as possible. From November 1-3, they will be offering walk-in only days in order to assist those in an immediate crisis first. Prescreenings will begin those mornings at 6:30 a.m. and the office will open at 7:30 a.m. Walk-ins will be accepted on a first come/first serve basis and only those with all required documentation can be seen.
