The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor increased to 2.9% from 2.7% for the month of December 2019.  One year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.2%.  In Lake County, the unemployment rate increased to 3.3% from 2.9% for the month of December.

The City of Mentor’s unemployment rate is the second lowest at 2.9% among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more. Lakewood has the lowest unemployment rate at 2.8%. The City’s civilian labor force decreased by 100 to 26,600.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate remained at 3.8% for the month of December.
