Mentor Job Report

The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor increased 0.1% to 3.8% for the month of April 2025. One year ago in April 2024, the unemployment rate was 3.2%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate remained the same at 4.1% for the month of April 2025; one year prior in April 2024, it was 3.4%.

Among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more, Lakewood has the lowest unemployment rate with 3.5%, Mentor has the next lowest rate at 3.8%, Cleveland Heights has the third lowest rate with 4.0%, and Parma has the fourth lowest rate at 4.2%. The City’s civilian labor force remained at 25,700.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.3% to 4.9% for the month of April 2025. The rate for the State was 3.9% in April 2024.
