The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased to 3.6% for the month of August 2019.  One year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.1%.  In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased to 3.7% from 4.6% for the month of August.

The City of Mentor’s unemployment rate is the second lowest at 3.6% among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more. Lakewood has the lowest unemployment rate of 3.4%. The City’s civilian labor force decreased by 500 to 27,000.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.4% to 4.2% for the month of August.
