Residents are advised that work on the Orchard Road Reconstruction Project will begin the week of October 22, 2018 (weather permitting).
The project is being managed by JTO, Inc. and consists of the complete reconstruction of Orchard Road from Woodridge to Lake Overlook. In addition to the full depth reconstruction of the roadway, it will also include the repair and/or replacement of sanitary sewer lines, storm sewer lines – including laterals – and may require the relocation of gas lines at certain points. Completion is scheduled for Fall 2019.
This is a substantial undertaking and we wanted to provide you with an overview on what to expect. The first step of the project will involve the repair and/or replacement of sanitary and storm sewers on your street. Crews are already on scene with video equipment to inspect the condition of the sewer lines. Work will continue through the winter months. Roadways within the work area will be limited to local traffic only with complete road closure at the point where daily sewer construction occurs. This can be a slow process based on weather conditions as well as other factors.
Once sewer work is complete, the roadway will be reconstructed one half at a time. One-way northbound traffic will be maintained. Southbound traffic will be detoured via adjacent local streets. PLEASE USE CAUTION when driving through the area.
All work will be performed Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 7:00 AM and 9:00 PM.
