The Books in the Woods Fair will be held on Sunday, March 30, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Wildwood Cultural Center. PUCO HOSTING RATE HIKE FORUMS
The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio PUCO recently announced three in-person public hearings related to First Energy’s rate increase request. Consumers may attend these local public hearings and voice their concerns directly to one of the five Commissioners attending. Learn more.
REC CENTER ANNOUNCES IMPROVEMENTS
The Mentor Community Recreation Center has announced enhancements to their facility which includes the installation of an additional indoor basketball court and the removal of Tennis Court 1. This new addition is aimed at providing more opportunities for programming and improving overall usage of our rec center. Learn more.
YARD WASTE COLLECTION BEGINS APRIL 7
The City of Mentor’s 2025 yard waste collection program will begin on April 7. Collection is limited to 12 units per week. Each unit should weigh less than 35 lbs. Brush should not exceed three inches in diameter and must be cut into four foot lengths and tied in bundles. Grass clippings, plants, leaves, small twigs, hedge trimmings, etc. can be contained in paper yard waste bags or rigid containers up to 32 gallon capacity with holes drilled on the side near the bottom to allow for water drainage. Leave the lid off and mark the container with YW.

MENTOR BALLOT ISSUE 4
As per city charter, any capital improvement projects that take place in the Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve must be approved by voters. Mentor Issue 4 will appear on the May 6, 2025, ballot for a proposed observation tower to be built on the marsh rim approximately 1,000 feet from the main trailhead. Learn more.
