Youth Hockey Programs

Tot Hockey is a part of our Learn-to-Skate (LTS) Program, which is offered to children age 3-5. In this program boys and girls are taught skating skills such as balance, forward and backward skating, stopping and turning. Students will also experience skating skills while using a hockey stick. Children interested in Tot Hockey must have passed Tot 1 in the Learn-to-Skate Program.

Equipment required: Hockey helmet with cage, hockey skates and hockey stick (straight blade) and hockey gloves. All Tot Hockey classes are 30 minutes in length and meet once a week for 6 weeks.

Instructional hockey is a part of our Learn-to-Skate (LTS) Program and is available to those new and beginner players looking to develop basic skills. Stick handling and hockey skating skills are emphasized. This program is ideal for players considering Rec-Hockey in the future. Boys and girls age 5-10 are eligible.

Equipment required: Players must supply own equipment; approved ice hockey helmet with cage, ice hockey junior stick (straight blade), and hockey skates. It is recommended that players also wear protective equipment. (Note: this protective equipment can be of any type, i.e. soccer or rollerblade equipment).

Pre-Requisite: Must be 5 years of age or older. Students must also pass either Learn-to-Skate Tot 3 or Tot Hockey 4 to participate in Instructional Hockey. (If child is age 4 and has passed Tot Hockey 4, he or she may participate). Students age 6 & over must pass Basic 1 before participating.

House/ADM Mite Blue
ADM Mite Blue is an in-house hockey program for kids aged 8 and under. Focus will be on skill development, basic fundamentals and fun! Players are divided into teams based on skill level. Teams will have ice time at the Mentor Ice Arena on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Games will played at the Mentor Ice Arena, along with other local rinks. ADM Mite Blue plays in the Cleveland Suburban Hockey League and is a feeder program for our Travel Hockey league. The first few months of the season will be skill development, and games following. This program runs from September – December and a second session from January – March/April.

Ages: 8 and under

Prerequisite: Players must have passed Tot Hockey 1 or Instructional Hockey 1 or have had permission from the Hockey Director.

A competitive program that travels throughout the Cleveland area for league play; program is governed by the Cleveland Suburban Hockey League (CSHL). Registration is held over the summer and tryouts are held in the spring. Practices begin in early September.

Adult Hockey Programs

This class is tailored for players of all levels looking to improve their hockey game and skills. 18 and older please. Equipment required: Approved hockey helmet, hockey skates, hockey gloves, stick, and personal protective equipment. Call the Arena at (440) 974-5730 for details and to register.

Don’t feel like chasing after the teenagers any more? Join the Adult 35+ League and enjoy yourself. This league is for experienced players who are looking for organized league play. No checking is allowed and all players must be at least 35 years of age (as of December 31). Registration begins in the fall. A player draft is held in September, and league play immediately follows. The season ends in March. Full protective gear is required. An approved ice hockey helmet is mandatory, and a face cage is recommended.

Pickup hockey!  For adults who are looking to develop their skills as well as get some exercise. Players must be at least 18 years of age. Full equipment is required, including helmets, and full-face cages are recommended. Fees are paid before taking the ice.

Cost is $10 per player per day per week

Games are played evenings after 8 p.m.  League runs June through mid-August; registration begins in April.  No checking is allowed and all players must be at least 18 years of age (as of December 31).  Full protective gear is required; an approved ice hockey helmet is mandatory, and a face cage is recommended.
