The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor remained at 4.0% for the month of December 2017.  One year ago, the unemployment rate was 4.5%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate increased to 4.4%.

The City of Mentor’s unemployment rate is the fourth lowest among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more; Columbus and Lakewood had the lowest unemployment rate (3.7%) followed by Kettering (3.9%). The City’s civilian labor force declined by 500 to 25,800.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate increased 0.3% to 4.5% for the month of December; 0.3% less than one year ago.
