The unemployment rate for the City of Mentor decreased to 3.9% for the month of March 2018. One year ago, the unemployment rate was 5.1%. In Lake County, the unemployment rate decreased from 5.6% to 4.7%.

The City of Mentor’s unemployment rate improved to the fifth lowest among cities in Ohio with a population of 50,000 or more; Columbus had the lowest unemployment rate (3.4%) followed by Kettering (3.5%), Lakewood (3.6%} and Cleveland Heights at 3.8%.

The City’s civilian labor force decreased by 100 to 26,000.

The State of Ohio’s unemployment rate decreased 0.5% to 4.3% for the month of March; 1.0% less than one year ago.
